Learning Centre Coordinator – 21 hours per week – Salary: £26,844. pro rata 

Funded by The National Lottery for 2.5 years with continuation subject to funding.

The Learning Centre Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Learning Zone – which is the adult community learning programme within the Gateway Centre, offering both accredited and unaccredited classes and courses based on community need.   We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual with the skills to engage individuals in accredited and unaccredited learning and engage with partner organisations for delivery.

Purpose of the post:

  • Responsibility for the day to day running of adult community learning initiatives at The Gateway Centre.
  • Planning and delivering unaccredited community adult learning sessions and courses.
  • Engaging external providers for the delivery of accredited courses such as literacy and numeracy
  • Ensuring the centre responds to current and emerging community learning needs. 
  • Be an integral part of the team which will work with partners and funders to secure the future of community learning initiatives at The Gateway.

In partnership with a range of statutory, voluntary and education providers, the Gateway Centre offers a range of regular services including: an advice service; volunteer opportunities; employment support programmes; a community cafe; a range of weekly social activities including arts and craft club, seniors luncheon club; family play sessions and practical support classes such as cook and eat sessions.
