Job Opportunity at the Gateway
Ravenscliffe Community Association are excited to be recruiting 2 new posts as part of an exciting cafe programme funded by Incommunities Foundation. Details of each post are below:
Raven’s Rest Cafe Coordinator
16 hours per week
Are you motivated, friendly, business minded person. Do you have a passion for food and the skills to work as part of the Gateway team to deliver affordable, home cooked meals in a vibrant community setting? We are looking for a cafe coordinator who can drive forward the development of a sustainable community cafe at the heart of the Community Centre. This post would suit someone who would enjoy the challenge of building a community focused business and enjoys working in a community environment.
Raven’s Rest Cook/Tutor
8 hours per week
Have you got the skills and experience to mentor and train local people, through volunteering placements and open sessions within the community? Would you enjoy helping people learn food preparation skills, help people to cook on a budget, and raising awareness of healthy eating. Could you support people to gain practical experience that can help them improve their skills and confidence? Do you want to work as part of a team in a busy community centre and community cafe?

Shape your community
Local residents in BD10 will have the chance to speak to representatives from Bradford's Local Development Framework team on Saturday 8th November 2008.
The team will be hosting a consultation at the Gateway from 10am till 2pm and want local residents to come along and discuss proposals for how new housing and business developments could be sited across the north of Bradford.

New Courses at the Gateway
Autumn approaches and we are welcoming in the changing season with 3 new courses starting this week at the Gateway Centre. We are pleased to welcome back CALTEC and will be delivering Numeracy, Literacy and CLAIT courses. Courses are filling up fast, so for more information contact the Gateway team on 636602.
