Urban Dance and Creative Arts NEW CLASSES starting

Urban Dance and Creative Arts NEW CLASSES starting

Be part of a new exciting project going off in your area. This programme will help you get fit and in shape and show off your potential, through dance.

The project offers workshops in contemporary, contemporary technique, contemporary (Martha Graham), contemporary (Cunningham), contemporary (Release), jazz dance, musical theatre,improvisation, improvisation (getting stuck in).

These classes are aimed at young people aged 11 to 16 so if you are younger than 11 then you might not get as much out of the programme. This programme would be particularly suited to students at GCSE level.

There are classes to suit all ages but please be aware that those wanting to attend who study GCSE or are going into A-Level or just wanting to top up their skills, this will not be easy ! as you will be treated in a professional manner. There is a small weekly fee of £2 per class to help cover the costs. For a limited time there are discount promotion vouchers available on reception.

we expect all student taking part in this project to attend in full dance wear if possible.

SNOW ADVICE !!!!!!

SNOW ADVICE !!!!!!

The Car Park at the Gateway is extremely icy subsequently from the 5th January 2010 until further notice we are closing the carpark for access with cars. We will be keeping the side path gate open and are advising our users to park on Ravenscliffe Avenue and use the front steps which will be gritted.

We would like to advise you that Thackeray Road is extremely icy in both directions and we do not advise people wanting to access the Gateway to use this route.

If for any reason we have to close any of the services staff at the Gateway will contact users directly and we will post a message on the website.

Job Opportunity at the Gateway Community Centre

The Ravenscliffe Community Association manages The Gateway, a Community Centre in North Bradford alongside our partners the Children’s Society with the Gateway Nursery and Children’s Centre.

At the beginning of 2008 we secured 4 years funding from the Big Lottery. Due to recent staffing changes we are seeking to recruit a full time Reach Out Worker to join our busy team.

Reach Out Worker

37 hours per week (Full Time)
£22,730 per annum (SCP 27)
Post funded till January 2012)

Are you a people person who is friendly, approachable and enjoys working with a wide range of people and getting out and meeting people in our vibrant community, Ravenscliffe and Greengates?

Could you work flexibly as part of a team that develops new and innovative services for the benefit of the local community?

Would you enjoy working with partners both local and district wide to help develop a healthier, stronger and more active community, as well as develop interventions to reduce poverty and social isolation?

Have you got the skills to develop the Gateway communication and promotion networks to make sure services reach as many beneficiaries as possible?

Do you share our values of providing a home for the community, and services that are welcoming, respectful and aspirational?

If the answer is yes, then you could be the person that we are looking for to join our team at the Gateway Community Centre.

Your Gateway to Summer 2009, Holiday Activities

The Gateway will be hosting a summer playscheme for 8 - 13 year olds for 4 weeks throughout August 2009.
With outdoor play, trips, environmental, creative sessions, sport and some surprises.

Matt, Alexis and Lottie will be here to help keep you entertained over the summer period. Playscheme runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the 3rd to the 28th August 2009.

Affordable family trips for 2009

Affordable family trips for 2009

Pop into the Gateway and pick up our programme for summer, we will be running trips again this summer to Bridlington, Southport and a theme park trip.

All trips have been kindly subsidised by a number of funders so we can again offer affordable days out for families in Ravenscliffe and Greengates.
