Springbank Playscheme at the Gateway
Get ready for 3 days of fun for 8 to 13 year olds at the Gateway. Thanks to support from Bradford East 1 LAP, and the Extended Services team, the Gateway is proud to host 3 days of play activities.
The 3 day programme includes:
Tuesday 1st June 2010 and Thursday 3rd June 2010
Am Session: 10am to 12.30pm
Pm Session: 1pm t0 3.30pm
Open play session including:
Foam Slide
Giant Junk Modelling
Face Painting
Team Games
Ribbon Dancing
Water play
Green finger challenge.
Wood play
All morning activates run throughout the day
Fun with 5 a day challenge

No Cost, but do I need to register to attend?
Yes, you need a form from the Gateway completed by your parent or guardian

No this is an open play day and there is lots more going on for the whole family too. There will be food available to buy from the cafe , raffles and stalls so you may want to bring some pocket money.

can only be sent out to a valid email address from 12pm on the 26th May 2010 due to postal restrictions. Application packs can only be sent out by email up to 5pm on Thursday 27th May 2010 due to staffing restrictions.
All applications must be received postmarked before 12 noon on the 28th May 2010. An email copy can be submitted but only if a hard copy is also submitted.
Any applications received either without a postmarked hard copy or after the closing date will not be considered.

Summer Fair and Fun Day
Call in to the Gateway on Wednesday 2nd June 2010 from 1pm to 4pm for a fun afternoon of family friendly activities.
Lots of activities for the kids, table top sales, visit our newly open cafe and meet Zoe and Adam our new cafe team. Table top sales, raffles, tombola and much much more.

Job Opportunities at the Gateway
The Ravenscliffe Community Association manages The Gateway, a Community Centre in North Bradford alongside our partners the Children’s Society with the Gateway Nursery and Children’s Centre.
At the beginning of 2008 we secured 4 years funding from the Big Lottery. Due to recent staffing changes we are seeking to recruit 3 part time staff to join our busy team.
Reach Out Worker
16 hours per week (Full Time)
£22,958 per annum pro rata (SCP 27)
Post funded till January 2012)
Are you a people person who is friendly, approachable and enjoys working with a wide range of people and getting out and meeting people in our vibrant community, Ravenscliffe and Greengates?
Do you share our values of providing a home for the community, and services that are welcoming, respectful and aspirational?
Would you enjoy working with partners both local and district wide to help develop a healthier, stronger and more active community, as well as develop interventions to reduce poverty and social isolation?

Could you work flexibly as part of a team that develops new and innovative services for the benefit of the local community?

Have you got the skills to monitor, develop and target the Gateway communication and promotion networks to make sure services reach as many beneficiaries as possible?
Have you experience of capturing the benefits that someone receives when they use a community service?
Are you methodical, do you have experience of and be able to develop our systems to improve the way we monitor and capture information?
Are you self motivated, responsive and able to juggle conflicting demands?
If the answer is yes, then you could be the person that we are looking for to join our team at the Gateway Community Centre.
Caretaker
16 hours per week
(4 evenings and 1 day at weekend)
£14,733 per annum (SCP 11)
(Post funded till January 2012)
The Gateway Centre is looking for a caretaker to help us keep the building ship shape and in sound working order.
Do you enjoy doing small maintenance jobs, painting and decorating?
Have you experience of meeting Health and Safety requirements, carrying out COSHH and risk assessments?
Can you liaise with contractors and suppliers?
Would you enjoy working as part of a busy staff team helping to keep the community centre accessible, safe and welcoming all year round?
If the answer is yes, then you could be the person that we are looking for to join our team at the Gateway Community Centre.
Closing Date for all applications is, Friday 29th May at 12noon
